The Construction Suicide Prevention Partnership is proud to announce we are now hosting free, virtual QPR trainings every month!
QPR stands for Question Persuade Refer. QPR is a straight-forward suicide intervention training that teaches participants the warning signs of suicide, how to ask someone directly about suicide, and how to refer them to additional support. Participants will receive a certificate and lists of mental health resources.
What makes our version of QPR different? Our partners have worked with the QPR Institute to provide training tailored to the construction industry. We include specific suicide data for construction and talk about the unique aspects of construction that put people at a higher risk for suicide. We also feature voices of lived experience from the industry in our presentation.
I am excited to be able to facilitate these trainings for our community. In 2022, I began my time at Lines for Life as an AmeriCorps member, and delivering QPR trainings for the public was one of my main responsibilities. Since then, I have helped coordinate and present over 30 QPRs.
As the Outreach Coordinator for CSPP, I have facilitated two private QPR trainings with great reviews and feedback. By having these offerings available publicly, we hope to make it more accessible and easier for anyone to get trained.
If you want to attend our free virtual sessions, you can check out our training page here for the registration link. Our first training will be June 21st, 8:30 am- 10 am PST. Registration is required to attend. Space is limited, so please sign up soon!
Feel free to share this opportunity and the registration link with anyone in the industry who might be interested. You can also check out our other presentations on the training page while you are there.
