CSPP Continues to Heat Up Along with the Weather!
We wanted to share what CSPP has been up to this summer and provide some updates for our readers.
NECA Golf Tournament
CSPP was honored to be the chosen charity for the National Electrical Contractors Association’s annual golf tournament. Our goal was to raise funds for CSPP by selling hats and raffle tickets for prizes given away at the end of the tournament. All proceeds went directly to CSPP. We had a blast selling tickets and debuting our new CSPP hats featuring “988” on the back! Thank you to everyone who helped out and participated in a friendly game of cornhole!
Holder Life Saver Walk
Each year, Holder Construction hosts a Life Saver Walk on their job sites, where they distribute physical and mental health resources to workers. This year, CSPP was honored to be part of the event. I spoke about the warning signs of suicide and shared the resources CSPP and Lines for Life offer to both workers and companies. We then walked the site handing out flyers and Life Saver candies to employees. Speaking directly with workers and seeing them in action while sharing resources was a powerful way to connect with the group and build relationships.
Hoffman Paragon QPR Trainings
In July, I had the pleasure of traveling to Hoffman’s Paragon site in Sunnyvale, California. Our mission was to deliver three Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) trainings to their workers. Over two days, I conducted all three sessions. It’s always an eye-opening experience to see how unique each job site is. Every location has its own culture, resources, and perspectives on suicide and mental health. While these differences can sometimes be challenging, they also give us the opportunity to meet people where they are in their mental health awareness. That’s the heart of what CSPP is all about—we meet workers where they are and tailor our materials accordingly to make mental accessible to everyone no matter what you know.
